Coast Guard
In April, 2003, the Dept of Homeland Security awarded
Nortex a contract for five modular buildings to be located at their Galveston
base. Two buildings are 968 square feet; the medical facility is 2,720 sq.
ft., the administration building is 2,800 sq. ft.', and the shower/locker
building is 1,764 sq. ft.. The exterior finish of these buildings is a
horizontal fibre-cement siding and the design meets
the coastal wind load requirements.
The scope of work includes poured-in-place
concrete footings, steel decks and ramps, telecom & data
wiring, PA system, and a fire alarm system.
This project is scheduled for occupancy
in July, 2003.
